On Sunday 7 October 2012 the inauguration of the exhibition with theme the ongoing violation of religious freedom in the north occupied part of Cyprus took place after an arc-hieratical con-celebration of His Beatitude the Archbishop of Prague Mr. Christoforos and His Grace Bishop Porfyrios of Neapolis at the Metropolitan Church of Prague, which is dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius. The exhibition is part of the initiatives that the Church of Cyprus has taken during the presidency of the European Council by the Republic of Cyprus.
During his addressing, His Beatitude the Archbishop of Prague Mr. Christoforos welcomed His Grace Bishop Porfyrios of Neapolis and referred to the ongoing drama of the Cypriots as well as to his close relations with Cyprus and its people. His Grace Bishop Porfyrios of Neapolis in his speech thanked his Beatitude for the contribution of the Orthodox Church of Czech Lands and he presented the exhibition to the public. The exhibition will be gusted until the 26th of October 2012 by the Romanian Cultural Centre of Prague and will be open for the wide public.
In the framework of the annual festival ‘’Archaion Kallos’’ on the evening of the 8th of October, it was organized by the Czech Foundation «Filokalia» a concert of Byzantine music by the choir of the Metropolis of Limassol «Romanos o Melodos». The choir is consisted of twenty five members and is coordinated by Protopresbyter f. Nicolaos Limpourides. It performed hymns from all years’ feasts as well as hymns written by Cypriots hymn-composers.
