On Friday the 14th of January, His Grace Bishop Porfyrios of Neapolis, representative of the Church of Cyprus to the European institutions, had a meeting with the Member of the British Parliament Mr. David Burrowes in Enfield Southgate in North London.
Mr. Burrowes is the President of the Standing Committee of the British Parliament for Cyprus. This Committee will visit Cyprus in February 2012.
Bishop Porfyrios of Neapolis informed Mr. Burrowes for the violation of religious freedom to the semi-occupied Cyprus, by the Turkish army, as well as for the recent incident of the interruption Christmas Holy liturgy in Rizokarpasso village and at the village of Agia Triada by the Turkish army.
The British Deputy, cordial supporter of the rights of the Cypriots promised to continue his efforts with the members of his Committee for a fair and viable solution of the Cyprus Problem.
